Frequently Asked Questions

who are you & where are you based?

I’m Amour Tattoo (but you can call me Danielle), a blackwork tattoo artist fueled by emo and pop-punk anthems, horror movies, and endless cups of coffee. When I’m not tattooing, you’ll find me hanging out with my fluffy golden retriever, Ozzy (yes, named after that Ozzy).

I pride myself on creating a welcoming and relaxed space where you can feel comfortable throughout your tattoo experience. Whether it’s your first tattoo or your fiftieth, I’m here to make the process fun, stress-free, and full of good vibes. I’m based at the amazing Mother North Tattoo studio in Hull ready to bring your vision to life. Let’s create something awesome together!

HOW DO I CARE FOR MY NEW TATTOO?

It's vital to ensure you're looking after your tattoo after your appointment so your tattoo will remain looking its very best. Please ensure you wash your hands before cleaning or applying aftercare to prevent the transfer of germs. If using second skin, remove after 5 hours or if you plan to leave it on longer, I recommend maximum two days. Remove under lukewarm water. If second skin begins to peel beforehand, remove it to prevent unwanted bacteria getting into your tattoo. If using cling film, remove after 4 hours and do not reapply. Wash your tattoo gently twice a day with a fragrance free soap such as Sanex and pat dry with some kitchen roll. Apply a small amount of aftercare onto your tattoo using either Butterluxe (which sometimes I have in stock at the studio) or Palmers Cocoa butter to the tattoo to help keep it hydrated. Moisturise, only morning and evening (twice a day). Do not pick your tattoo as this will lead to ink dropping out. Avoid swimming, baths, hot tubs or going into the sea whilst it's healing. Showers are fine. Also avoid prolonged exposure to the Sun. If you have any queries drop me a message.

do you sell vouchers & merch?

Yes! Vouchers will always be available for sale in my online shop, merch when available will also be available for purchase there.

do you have any advice for getting tattooed?

Try to get a good night’s sleep before your appointment (no partying!), eat a solid meal beforehand, and stay well-hydrated. Bring snacks, drinks, and a jumper in case you get cold. If you’d rather zone out with music or a podcast, feel free to pop in your headphones—I won’t be offended! And if you’re feeling nervous, just let me know. I’m super friendly, and the studio is a safe, judgment-free space. Everyone’s pain tolerance is different, but I’ll do my best to keep you as comfortable as possible. I promise you’ll leave with a smile… even if you’re a little sore! :)
